The table
TIKVA Feeding
A hot, nutritious meal for up to a hundred women and children every week, and a table where no one eats alone.
Unleashing the power of hope on the streets of Medellín, Colombia.
Migrants, the internally displaced, and women exploited through trafficking and prostitution all arrive at TIKVA’s door. Poverty, displacement and violence leave them vulnerable, and TIKVA meets them with shelter, trauma-informed care, vocational training and a path toward restoration.

Meeting needs and empowering lives through the love and hope found in Jesus Christ.
Tikva means “hope” in Hebrew.
The table
A hot, nutritious meal for up to a hundred women and children every week, and a table where no one eats alone.
The trade
Job training that pays: sewing, baking and beauty-salon skills so women can earn a daily income, plus tutoring for their children in reading, writing and math. Alongside it, women learn basic financing and entrepreneurship skills to build a small business, with small microgrants available for some to receive formal training or invest in their own venture.
The home
Receiving women in their moment of critical need with emergency housing and basic care, right in a home of our own under renovation now. Women ready for a longer-term commitment, up to six months, receive food and housing, trauma counseling, discipleship, vocational training and social service care, with support for their children too.
The workshop
A chance to work within TIKVA projects and start generating income and savings in beauty, sewing and baking. Women train at TIKVA Empowerment or Spa Esther, or simply use TIKVA’s facilities as they begin to build their own earnings.
The journey
Short-term trips, ongoing throughout the year, for those ready to come and serve vulnerable communities in Medellín and beyond.
We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure.
TIKVA was born on the streets of Medellín during the COVID-19 pandemic, as the Venezuelan migration crisis left more women and children than ever in extreme vulnerability. Founder Rebekah Slick and Team TIKVA answered with help and hope, and haven’t stopped since.
